Fianna Fail TDs meet with Minister of State John Halligan to discuss measures to improve school transport Scheme
Fianna Fail TDs Thomas Byrne and TD Bobby Aylward have met with Minister John Halligan to address issues of concern regarding the School Bus Transport Scheme.
Senator Robbie Gallagher as Spokesperson for Education in the Seanad is keen to address the remaining issues some pupils and their families are experiencing.
“Despite promises that the scheme would be improved upon, there still remains hundreds of school children across the country who are not being provided with school transport for this academic year.”
“There should be greater flexibility for those who wish to send their children to school which may not be closest to where they live. For example if they want to join a sibling or cousin at an alternative local school”
The Offices of Senator Robbie Gallagher, TD Thomas Byrne and TD Bobby Aylward are currently compiling individual cases to bring to Minister Halligan for review.
